James Canty Brass Chair
Trumpeter / Composer / Arranger James Canty (BA, Brevard College, 2000 – MM in progress) began his professional career as a trombonist with the Long Bay Symphony. After a stint with Holland America Cruise Line, he returned to the LBS as a trumpeter, and never looked back. James has performed with the Dallas Brass, the O’Jays, the Ohio Players, Tim Zimmerman’s King’s Brass, Michael W. Smith, and most recently, Randy Rainbow’s debut album, A LITTLE BRAINS, A LITTLE TALENT. From tuba to piccolo trumpet, Mr. Canty is expert in the entire range of brass instruments. FSCA is proud to have him as Chair of our Brass Department.
