The Brass Quintet Seminar at the Carolina Coast is an intensive week-long summer workshop for collegiate students in which you will study, rehearse, perform, and record masterworks for brass quintet.  The result of this week-long excursion will include heightened musicianship, the advancement of chamber ensemble skills, and experience in a world class recording studio, where you will take home a professional recording of your performance.

Each Quintet will rehearse twice per day, one of which will be coached by a member of our workshop faculty members. Faculty members joining us are Dr. Alex van Duuren, Tim Hudson, Edmund Gunther, Dr. Joanna Hersey, and Dr. Maria Serkin.

Each Quintet will record one masterwork in our world-class recording studio which will be produced by our talented engineer, Logan Strahley.

Housing along the Intracoastal Water Way and one meal (lunch) will be provided daily.  Despite the rigorous rehearsal schedule, participants will have ample opportunity to experience the beautiful NC beaches.

Students will arrive in Sunset Beach, NC on June 16th, 2022 and the workshop will end on June 22nd.

The audition and application process is free and easy and is open to collegiate students over the age of 18.
